Services & Rates

At this time, the service I offer is astrological consultation. This page will be updated if and when I add more.

How to receive an astrological consultation

Contact me and tell me you would like to schedule a consultation. Please include your date, time, and place of birth (unless you are a returning client), and what you would like to focus on in this consultation. If it’s about your solar return or a relationship, please also include the information requested here.

I will cast your chart, spend some time looking over it, and we will meet at the agreed upon time. If this is a first consultation, expect to be in the meeting for an hour and a half. If you are a returning client, budget an hour to an hour and a half.

Where

Currently, due to lockdown and social distancing requirements, all astrological consultations must be done online. We can use Zoom, Skype, Facetime, Google Hangout, or any other available virtual meeting service. Since the virtual meeting landscape is rapidly changing, it’s possible you know of a service I haven’t considered. If you would like to use a method other than the ones mentioned, please let me know.

I also offer phone or typed chat consultations if a virtual meeting does not work for you. This may be the case if you are in a location without reliable internet service (but with reliable phone service), have a hearing or speech impairment, or do not speak (but do read and write) English fluently. To consult over the phone, you must be in the U.S. All other methods available worldwide.

Cost

My standard rate is $125 (USD) per consultation. I ask that you pay that if you can comfortably afford it--key word being comfortably. If the thought of paying that sends you into a panic, please go on to the alternatives below. (Previous clients may have been quoted a different rate. In those cases, the earlier rate still stands.)

payment alternatives

In the current global crisis, many people have lost their income. Some have had unstable or inadequate income to begin with. In a world economy dominated by the U.S. dollar, not everyone’s currency can match U.S. rates. As an astrologer, I need to request compensation to ensure that I value my time and skills properly (and can meet expenses), and that my clients also do. That said, it does not make sense to charge money that people don’t have. So, here are the alternatives:

Pay what you can when you can. This requires some payment up front, but it does not have to be much. Ideally, it would be at least $50, but if you only have $20, I will accept that. You may make additional payments in the future if there comes a time when you have them to spare. Or you can simply say, “This is what I can afford to pay.”

We can set up a payment plan if you expect to have the income to meet it over the next month, few months, etc. If you can pay a full $125 that way, great. If you can only pay $50-$100 even on a payment plan, then that works, too. If you have to stop at the initial payment or you won’t be able to eat and pay your bills, then pay it forward some other way. It does not have to be paying it forward to me. Maybe you can offer help to another person who needs it most.

If you are someone who needs a paying it forward plan spelled out, we can figure out together what it will look like. If you’re comfortable with more ambiguity, then I’m comfortable letting it unfold however it does. For any kind of payment plan, if your situation changes before it is fulfilled, it can be adapted as necessary. Do not hesitate to reach out.

Non-monetary compensation. For San Francisco Bay Area residents, I use the Bay Area Community Exchange (BACE) as a non-monetary compensation alternative. In that system, you pay service with service, but it does not have to be a service to the person who’s served you. You can offer whatever skill you have to anyone in the community. To join BACE, you have to live, or at least frequently spend time, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

If you are not a Bay Area resident, BACE is not an option, but service trade might be. Please make me an offer!

Help me promote myself by submitting your question to Ask the Astrologer. This gets you a free mini-reading. If you have already done this, it’s no longer an option until at least a year has gone by since your question was published and you’ve provided an update. If you have not already done this, it can be a great way to test the waters. Letter writers receive a draft of my answer in advance of publication. Usually, some discussion takes place behind the scenes that does not end up in the published answer. You might find complete satisfaction to your questions that way, and if not, you can follow up with a more comprehensive reading using one of the other compensation options. Please read the ground rules before submitting, as some questions may be appropriate for consultation but not for Ask the Astrologer.

How to pay (money)

I accept all forms of payment through Pay Pal. If you have a Pay Pal account, you can pay me directly (and save fees by selecting the friend/family option). If you do not have a Pay Pal account, I can send you an invoice, which can be paid with a credit or debit card. If you are in a country not served by Pay Pal, please contact me and we’ll see what solution we can come up with.
